Regional Recreation Area, and with the Hayward Area Recreation District in areas like Carlos Bee Park.

Future projects along San Lorenzo Creek could increase visual open space, extend creekside trails such as in downtown Hayward to the Bay trail and create creek parkways.

In Hayward, for example, access to the creek is now limited to De Anza Park at the corner of Foothill Boulevard and City Center Drive, and the Japanese Garden park. Public overlooks with seating, greenways, and parks could enhance the entire downtown area.
